Life Story for Arlene Marie Feyen (Wilson)
Arlene Marie Wilson Feyen was born on December 31, 1935 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Dale and Mollie (Ditter) Wilson. She grew up in Grand Island where she attended Jefferson Elementary, Walnut Junior High School and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1953. Arlene attended Nebraska State College and graduated in 1963 with a BA in Education and went on to attend Montana State College, graduating in 1979 with a MEd in Counseling.
Arlene taught elementary grades in Howard County, Cozad and Grand Island, Nebraska; Craig, Colorado and Great Falls, Montana. In 1980, she began working as a certified addiction counselor with Valley Hope in O’Neill, Nebraska and in 1983 in Atchison, Kansas. Arlene also worked at the Northeast Kansas Guidance Center. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Atchison where she served as a Deacon, Elder and a Commissioner to the Heartland Presbytery. Arlene enjoyed crochet, puzzles, travel and especially White Water Rafting.
Arlene health began to fail in late 2017 and she moved to Nebraska to be near her sister LaVonne and her family. Arlene passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 82 years and one month. She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Mollie; Arlene is survived by her sister LaVonne (LeRoy) Moats of Washington, NE; 6 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews and many cousins; Kathy (Kent) Porter; Westfield, IN
